How to create NS records varies from one DNS provider to another. This article explains how to do it with GoDaddy.
Adding NS records in GoDaddy is straightforward. You can find their official guide here.
In short:
- Log in to GoDaddy and select your domain;
- Click on ´Manage DNS´ in ´Additional Settings´;
- Select ´Add´ under the ´Records´ list;
- Select ´Type´>´NS´ and fill the required fields (See below)
- Click ´Save´
However, point 4 my be tricky. Please, make sure you input the requirements correctly:
Host: The host name. E.g., enter fpc to create a subdomain for fpc.yourdomain.com
The logic is that the top-level domain should be removed. I.e. you should insert only fpc and remove yourdomain.com in the example above. However, if you use a subdomain like fpc.www.yourdomain.com, you should enter fpc.www because the www it is not part of the top-level domain.
Points to: The nameserver you want the subdomain to point to. You should have received an email from us with the nameservers to create. Please create a record for each NS record/“Value” you received.
TTL: you can leave the default value
That´s it. Now, wait for at least 1 hour and then you should be able to validate the DNS records in your Cookie Saver account. Next, you are ready to deploy the two Cookie Saver scripts.
If you cannot validate the DNS records, verify if your NS records have been created correctly.
